Zurich Day Street Photography Workshop — 10.05.2025

Street photography is all about being fully present and noticing those little moments that tell powerful stories. I can teach you to look differently and find these stories. I’ll share tips on creative composition and the best camera settings for street photography and striking ICM images. Most importantly, we’ll embrace the joy of transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary through the lenses of our cameras.

In this workshop, we’ll explore the urban heart of Zurich’s west side — starting at Escher Wyss Platz, surrounded by concrete and urban contrast, following the Limmat river toward the sleek lines and industrial charm of Puls 5. From there, we’ll wander into the wide-open space of Turbinenplatz — a great spot for capturing scale, symmetry and street moments. Our route then leads us up toward Hardbrücke and along the Viadukt, where striking architecture meets creative culture and ends at the Josefwiese.

What you’ll Learn

- Master how to use natural light and shadow to create striking black and white images

- Capture candid street moments with confidence

- Embrace ICM (Intentional Camera Movement), a creative technique that combines deliberate camera movement with a slow shutter speed to create abstract, painterly images

Workshop Info

We’ll start our day with a coffee or tea at a local café — my treat! This is a great chance to get to know each other, share expectations and discuss any specific wishes you might have for the workshop.

I speak English, German, Swiss German and of course, my mother tongue Dutch, fluently.

You can bring any camera (mobile phone, digital camera etc.).

Travel light, no tripod needed.

Cancellation Policy

The cancellation policy allows for a full refund if you cancel at least 10 days prior to the workshop date. For cancellations made less than 10 days before the workshop, no refund will be given, but you may choose to attend another workshop hosted by me.
