This personalized workshop can take place during the day or night, depending on your preferences and what you'd like to focus on. Over the course of around 2.5 hours, we'll explore different parts of Zurich based on the time of day and light conditions.

Throughout the workshop, I’ll share my personal approach and vision behind black and white street photography. You’ll see how I observe the streets, interact with the environment and compose my images — all in a relaxed, hands-on setting.

What you’ll Learn

- Master how to use natural light and shadow to create striking black and white images

- Capture candid street moments with confidence

- Shoot in low light

- Embrace ICM (Intentional Camera Movement), a creative technique that combines deliberate camera movement with a slow shutter speed to create abstract, painterly images

Street photography is all about being fully present and noticing those little moments that tell powerful stories. I can teach you to look differently and find these stories. I’ll share tips on creative composition and the best camera settings for striking ICM images. Most importantly, we’ll embrace the joy of transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary through the lenses of our cameras.

Workshop Info

We’ll start our tour with a drink at a local café — my treat! This is a great chance to get to know each other, share expectations and discuss any specific wishes you might have for the workshop.

I speak English, German, Swiss German and of course, my mother tongue Dutch, fluently.

To get the most out of this workshop, you should already feel comfortable adjusting your camera’s exposure settings — aperture, shutter speed and ISO.

Travel light, no tripod needed.

Cancellation Policy

The cancellation policy allows for a full refund if you cancel at least 10 days prior to the workshop date. For cancellations made less than 10 days before the workshop, no refund will be given, but you may choose to attend another workshop hosted by me.
