Life after Burnout!
Dear friends,
It turns out that life after burnout is filled with first times! My days used to be repetitive and predictable — mostly just work and family — which probably sounds familiar to a lot of you. But everything has shifted since I discovered street photography, and honestly, so have I. I've fallen in love with this unpredictable way of living — this life of constant experimentation.
Last week brought another one of those milestone moments: I went on vacation alone. It was just me, my dog, a tent, and of course, my camera. With no set plan, I lived day by day, simply hoping to catch some great shots and enjoying the quiet of just the two of us. I can honestly say I loved every second of it — and I'm already wondering what the next first time will be.
Never Try, Never Know — just keep exploring.
Warm regards,
Katja
Keep exploring — Join me in Utrecht!
I couldn't think of a better place for my first international workshop than Utrecht — the city where I lived and studied for so many years. Knowing this city’s hidden corners and unique places intimately makes it the perfect place to share this experience with you.
If you're feeling the pull of first times like I am, if you want to live your life in Never Try, Never Know mode too — then come with me to Utrecht! There are still spots available, and I would be honored to have you join me for this exclusive debut in my home country:
- Utrecht by Night: 16.05.2026
- Utrecht by Day: 17.05.2026
Don’t miss this opportunity to explore one of the Netherlands' most picturesque cities with me.
New Route, New Stories
You know what really surprised me when I started hosting my workshops? That so many participants booked a second workshop after attending the first. What a huge compliment!
In the Netherlands we say "drie keer scheepsrecht" — third time's the charm! That's why I set up a third workshop in Zurich, a brand new route, on a Wednesday. This one is for those of you who want to go deeper into black & white street photography with me — it takes place during the week, and yes, there's a good reason for that… which you'll find out when you attend!
